GETTING THERE
It is your responsibility to get to India and to the project location within India. Our programs begin at the destination itself at a given meeting point. The exact meeting point will be mentioned in the info sheet which you will receive at least 3 weeks before the project starts. You are responsible for reaching there in time.
Although we cannot make any bookings for you, we will gladly assist you in organising your trip to the project location, in finding a cheap flight or the appropriate train or bus within India.
An Experience India representative in India will welcome you at the given meeting point and will help you to get started with your chosen project/course in India; he or she can be consulted at any time if needed. We are looking forward to welcoming you to India. Let us share our passion for this magical country with you.
Indian Domestic Flights
In the last couple of years several „No-Frills“ airlines have established themselves in India, some of which offer extremely cheap domestic flights. Online bookings with electronically issued tickets, so called e-tickets, are sometimes possible with credit card from abroad also. Depending on your destination, the following airlines might offer the specific flight you are looking for. The airlines’ standard is similar to European or North American low budget carriers. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d be pleased to assist you. These are the links to Indian low budget airlines:

Indian Rail
Information on India’s train system and timetables you will find on the Indian Rail website. By now online bookings as well as online reservations are possible. Going by train in India is markedly cheaper than in Europe or North America.
Whenever you travel overnight by train in India, please make a reservation well in advance, i.e. at least a couple of days (even earlier when travelling during Indian holiday season between April and June).

Indian Buses
The Indian public transportation network is extensive and several times cheaper than in the Western World. Even the remotest areas are accessible by public buses. Empty buses are rare since many families don’t have their own vehicle and depend on public transportation.
There is a government bus system, run by each Indian state. In addition there are private buses which mainly operate outside the government bus stations. Increasingly, more and more long distance buses offer services according to western standards in so called Volvo buses with air condition, reclining seats and sometimes board service.
Even Sleeper Coaches with real beds are available for long distances.
Local buses are more basic. When buying a ticket inquire about the bus category which reaches from economy to luxury.
