ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation in Experience India projects and courses is mainly basic, in shared rooms, dorm style with shared bathroom. That’s why it is important for you to bring a sleeping pad and sleeping bag or sleep sheet as well as a mosquito net and washing line to attach the mosquito net.
If possible we put up course participants in the same house and not too far from the course location. This fosters the group atmosphere and social life within the group.
According to availability, the spectrum of possible accommodations stretches from traditional Kerala style houses and modern apartments to group tents.
For our volunteer and internship programs, if possible, you will be put up with a host family or directly in the project itself, either by yourself or together with another volunteer/intern. This is part of your cultural experience and a unique opportunity to gain insight into an Indian family and their way of life.
Which kind of accommodation exactly will be relevant for your course/project, will be mentioned in the info sheet that you will receive at least three weeks before the course/project starts.
If you wish for a little more comfort, we can put you up (at extra cost) in a 3-star hotel with attached bathroom and air condition in Kannur town or in a guest house/hotel with attached bathroom in Coorg and Wayanad. However, because of the atmosphere within the group, which is part of your India experience, we don’t recommend this.
